<p>The NRREC Trust organized a dynamic Science and Innovation Workshop at the Government High School in Anantapur, bringing the wonders of science to over 250 students from its learning centres. The workshop was designed to spark curiosity, encourage experimentation, and build scientific thinking skills.</p> <p>Expert facilitators from the Indian Institute of Science outreach programme conducted sessions on topics including renewable energy, robotics basics, water purification techniques, and astronomy. Students participated in hands-on experiments, building simple solar-powered devices, water filters, and basic circuits.</p> <p>The highlight of the workshop was a "Junior Innovators Challenge" where teams of students were given a real-world problem and asked to design a solution using available materials. The winning team created a low-cost drip irrigation model using recycled bottles — a solution directly relevant to Anantapur's agricultural challenges.</p> <p>"Science is not about memorizing formulas — it's about asking 'why' and 'how,'" said the lead facilitator. "These children have natural curiosity and brilliance. All they need is exposure and encouragement."</p> <p>The trust distributed over 100 science activity kits to students to continue their experiments at home. Plans are underway to establish a permanent "Innovation Lab" at the trust's main campus, where students can work on projects year-round.</p>

<p>The NRREC Trust marked a significant milestone with the inauguration of its first smart classroom facility at the main centre in Anantapur. The modern facility, equipped with interactive whiteboards, projectors, tablets, and high-speed internet, represents the trust's commitment to providing world-class education to underprivileged children.</p> <p>The inauguration was performed by a senior official from the District Education Department, who praised the trust's forward-thinking approach. "This smart classroom will give rural children the same digital learning advantages enjoyed by students in metropolitan cities," he said.</p> <p>The facility includes 30 tablets preloaded with educational content aligned with the state curriculum, a digital library with thousands of e-books, and video conferencing capability for online guest lectures and mentorship sessions.</p> <p>Teachers have undergone three months of training to effectively integrate digital tools into their teaching methodology. The blended learning approach combines traditional teaching with digital content, animations, and interactive exercises.</p> <p>"Technology is not a replacement for good teaching — it is a powerful amplifier," said Dr. P. Nagaraju. "Our goal is to ensure that a child in an Anantapur village has the same quality of digital learning resources as a child in Hyderabad."</p> <p>The trust plans to replicate this smart classroom model across all its learning centres within the next two years, with funding from donors and corporate CSR programmes.</p>

<p>The NRREC Trust hosted a grand Sankranti celebration at its Anantapur campus, bringing together students, teachers, families, and community members for a day of festivity and togetherness. Over 600 people participated in the celebrations.</p> <p>The festivities began with a traditional rangoli competition where students created stunning designs using coloured rice powder and flower petals. Traditional games including kite flying, cockfight (rooster), and bull racing were organized, connecting students with their cultural heritage.</p> <p>A massive community feast was prepared, featuring traditional Sankranti delicacies including pongal, ariselu, and bobbatlu. Students helped in the preparations, learning about the agricultural significance of the harvest festival and its importance in Telugu culture.</p> <p>Special Sankranti kits containing new clothes, sweets, and educational supplies were distributed to over 200 students. The event also included a cultural programme with students performing Haridasu songs and folk dances.</p> <p>"Festivals are a beautiful way to instil cultural values in our children while creating memories of joy and belonging," said Dr. P. Nagaraju. "At NRREC, we celebrate not just academics but life itself."</p>

<p>The NRREC Trust, in partnership with local hospitals and medical professionals, organized a free health check-up camp at its campus in Anantapur. The camp provided comprehensive health screenings to over 400 students and 200 family members.</p> <p>Services included general health check-ups, eye examinations, dental screenings, nutritional assessments, and blood tests. Specialists in paediatrics, ophthalmology, and dentistry volunteered their time and expertise. Free spectacles were distributed to 45 students who were found to need vision correction.</p> <p>The nutritional assessment component revealed that several students were deficient in essential vitamins and minerals, prompting the trust to revamp its hostel meal plans to include more nutrient-rich foods. The trust also partnered with a local dairy to provide daily milk to all hostel students.</p> <p>"A healthy mind resides in a healthy body. We cannot expect our children to excel academically if their basic health needs are not met," said Dr. P. Nagaraju. "This camp is now a regular part of our annual calendar."</p> <p>Follow-up treatment was arranged for students identified with health issues, with the trust covering all medical expenses. Health awareness pamphlets in Telugu were distributed to all families.</p>

<p>The NRREC Trust's Annual Cultural Festival "Kala Utsav" was a spectacular showcase of the artistic talents of its students. Held at the Open Air Auditorium in Anantapur, the two-day event attracted over 2,000 attendees including students, families, and art enthusiasts.</p> <p>The festival featured classical and folk dance performances, music recitals, theatrical productions, art exhibitions, and handicraft displays. Students from all age groups participated, demonstrating skills developed through the trust's extracurricular programmes.</p> <p>A highlight of the event was a Kuchipudi dance performance by a group of trust students who had been training for six months under a renowned dance guru. The audience gave them a standing ovation. The art exhibition displayed over 200 student paintings and sculptures on themes like "My Village," "Dreams," and "Nature."</p> <p>Guest artist and celebrated Telugu film director spoke about the importance of arts in education. "Art gives children a voice that goes beyond words," he said. "What NRREC Trust is doing by nurturing both academics and arts is truly holistic education."</p> <p>The festival concluded with a prize distribution ceremony and a community dinner, reinforcing the bonds between the trust and the community it serves.</p>

<p>In the spirit of Mahatma Gandhi's teachings, the NRREC Trust organized a Clean Village Campaign across five villages surrounding Anantapur on Gandhi Jayanti. Over 150 students, accompanied by teachers and volunteers, participated in this community service initiative.</p> <p>The campaign included sweeping public areas, clearing drains, painting walls with educational messages, and distributing hygiene kits to families. Students also conducted door-to-door awareness sessions on sanitation, waste segregation, and the importance of keeping surroundings clean.</p> <p>Local village panchayats supported the initiative by providing cleaning supplies and arranging waste collection vehicles. The enthusiastic participation of students impressed many villagers, who volunteered to join the effort.</p> <p>"Gandhiji said, 'Be the change you wish to see in the world.' Through this campaign, our students are learning that education goes beyond the classroom — it includes responsibility towards society," said Dr. P. Nagaraju.</p> <p>The trust plans to continue this campaign quarterly, gradually expanding to more villages and including additional community service activities like health check-ups and literacy drives.</p>

<p>On the occasion of Teachers' Day, the NRREC Trust organized a special felicitation ceremony to honour the dedicated educators who form the backbone of its educational programmes. The event was held at the trust's main hall in Anantapur and was attended by students, parents, and community members.</p> <p>Fifteen teachers were recognized for their exceptional service, with five receiving the "Best Teacher Award" for their innovative teaching methods and commitment to student success. Awards included cash prizes, certificates of appreciation, and gifts.</p> <p>Students prepared heartfelt tributes for their teachers, including handwritten letters, poems, and a short film documenting a day in the life of a trust teacher. Many in the audience were moved to tears by the emotional presentations.</p> <p>A panel discussion on "The Future of Teaching in Rural India" explored how technology can augment traditional teaching methods without replacing the human connection that makes education meaningful.</p> <p>"Our teachers are not just educators — they are mentors, counsellors, and often surrogate parents to our children," said Dr. P. Nagaraju. "This day is a small token of our immense gratitude."</p>

<p>The NRREC Trust, in collaboration with the Government Degree College, Anantapur, organised a free career guidance seminar for students preparing for their 10th and 12th grade examinations. Over 300 students from across the district attended the day-long programme.</p> <p>Expert speakers from various fields — including engineering, medicine, law, arts, and entrepreneurship — shared their career journeys and provided practical advice on career planning. Sessions covered topics such as choosing the right stream, government scholarship programmes, competitive exam preparation, and emerging career opportunities in technology.</p> <p>A dedicated session on vocational training and skill development highlighted alternative career paths that don't require traditional four-year degrees, broadening the students' horizons. Information booths were set up by local colleges and vocational institutes.</p> <p>Students were also guided on how to access various government schemes and scholarships available for SC, ST, BC, and minority students. Free career counselling sessions were offered, with follow-up support promised through the trust's mentorship programme.</p> <p>"Knowledge of opportunities is just as important as academic knowledge," said Dr. P. Nagaraju. "Many brilliant students miss out simply because they don't know what's available to them."</p>

<p>The NRREC Trust held its much-anticipated Annual Award Ceremony at the Anantapur Town Hall, recognising and celebrating the academic achievements of its students. The event was attended by over 1,000 guests, including parents, educators, donors, and local dignitaries.</p> <p>A total of 50 students were honoured with gold medals for securing top positions in their respective classes. Special awards were given for "Most Improved Student," "Best in Sports," and "Community Leadership." Each awardee also received a scholarship for the upcoming academic year.</p> <p>The chief guest, a prominent educationist from Bangalore, delivered an inspirational address about the power of perseverance and the importance of giving back to society. "These children are proof that talent knows no economic boundary," she remarked.</p> <p>The ceremony also featured performances by the trust's students, including a moving rendition of a Telugu folk song and a skit on the importance of education. Parents expressed deep gratitude for the trust's role in transforming their children's futures.</p> <p>Dr. P. Nagaraju thanked all supporters and reaffirmed the trust's commitment to expanding its reach. "Every award we give today is a seed of hope for a brighter tomorrow," he said.</p>

<p>On World Environment Day, the NRREC Trust organised a massive tree plantation drive at its campus in Anantapur. Over 200 students, teachers, and local volunteers came together to plant more than 500 saplings of native species including neem, banyan, and mango.</p> <p>The event began with an awareness session about climate change and its impact on agriculture in the Anantapur region, which is one of the driest districts in India. Students learned about water conservation, composting, and sustainable farming practices.</p> <p>Dr. P. Nagaraju inaugurated the drive by planting a banyan tree, symbolizing the trust's deep-rooted commitment to both environmental and educational growth. "Just as trees need nurturing to grow, so do our children. Our responsibility extends to both," he said.</p> <p>Each student was assigned a sapling to care for throughout the year, fostering a sense of environmental responsibility. The trust has committed to maintaining all planted trees and plans to make the campus a green hub for the community.</p>
